An Independent Review with Good For Nothing Clothing
Who are you and what do you do? Tell a little about the brand and its origins.
My name is Jack Mcleish I am the founder of Good For Nothing (gfn). The brand was created on the fact that I attended several interviews in high street stores and didn’t get a job, so I thought to myself why don’t I just start my own clothing brand. I stumbled across the phrase ‘good for nothing’. I could actually use the phrase in a good way, like a statement, turning it back on the people who perceive it to be meaning bad. I always intended to set up a business while I was at university.
Where are you based? Does this contribute to the kind of work that you put out?
I am currently studying at the University of Liverpool (Business Management), however recently things have become more serious with GFN & my degree seems the bit on the side now. The brand was founded in summer 2011. Around 8 months ago a close friend joined the business as it started growing quite quickly. I concentrate on the designs of the garments & accessories, whereas Sean Anderson sources & manages the products we produce.
Where could you see yourselves a few years down the line? What’s next for you as a brand?
In a few years time we will hopefully have GFN stores across the UK, competing with the likes of Jack Wills, Superdry & Allsaints. The brand was just been accepted to showcase on ASOS marketplace which should give it some more exposure. We also have PR companies in London interested in representing the brand. There is a good chance that in the next year onwards celebrities will be spotted wearing the brand.
Anything you’d like us to plug or showcase?
Everyone check out GFN! We have a website, twitter and Facebook.
